This drawing shows a man lying on his back in a hammock. His legs dangle off the side, and he’s holding a baby who’s reaching up toward him. The hammock ropes stretch tight, and the floor beneath is made of square tiles. The artist used only black and white, giving the scene a simple, shadowy feel. The way the lines crisscross in the hammock makes it look almost like a web. If you like this style, check out more about lithography.
