The app: what we collect
Nothing. The Artifact World Gallery iOS app does not collect personal data, account information, location, contacts, photos, identifiers, or behavioural analytics. There is no analytics SDK in the app at any tier. Apple's privacy label for the app declares Data Not Collected, and for the app that remains the literal truth.
The web store: consent-based, privacy-first analytics
Running a print shop is different from running the app. To understand which artworks and prints resonate — and to keep the store working — the website uses a single, privacy-first analytics tool (PostHog). It loads only after you accept the consent banner. If you decline, or before you answer, it does not load at all: no script, no cookies, no network requests. Known search-engine and AI crawlers are excluded automatically.
When enabled, it is configured for minimal data: no cross-site tracking, no session recording, no automatic capture of page content, and IP-based location is turned off. We record coarse commerce events — for example, that a print was viewed, added to a cart, or purchased, and which kind of search or shopping link brought you here — and the dollar value of an order. We never put your name, email, shipping address, or payment details into any analytics event. You can change your choice at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in Artifact World Gallery — the artworks you save, the collections you
create, the artists and works you follow, and your notes — is stored locally on
your device in an SQLite database (userdata.sqlite). It is not synced
anywhere. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it.
The one network call you should know about
When you open an artwork, the app loads the artwork's image from our content delivery network (CDN), which is hosted by Cloudflare R2. As with any web request, your device's public IP address is visible to Cloudflare for the duration of that image fetch. This is standard CDN behaviour, identical to opening any image-bearing webpage in your browser.
We do not collect, log, or analyse those requests. Cloudflare's own data practices are governed by their privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Artifact World Gallery does not perform any other network calls in normal use. There is no telemetry endpoint, no crash reporter, no remote configuration service, no third party SDK that phones home in the background.
Permissions the app may ask for
Artifact World Gallery asks for a small number of system permissions, only at the moment you use the feature that needs them:
- Notifications — only if you opt in to exhibition tracking, so we can tell you when a work or artist you follow is coming to a museum near you. No marketing pushes, ever.
- Location — only if you ask to see exhibitions and museums near you. Your location is used on-device to sort what's nearby; it is not recorded or transmitted.
You can deny any of these at any time without losing access to the rest of the app.
Purchases and Family Sharing
The Plus subscription is processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We never see your
payment information; entitlements are validated locally against
Transaction.currentEntitlements on your device. Family Sharing of
the subscription is handled by Apple — we are not involved in that exchange.
Prints purchased on this website are handled at checkout by Stripe (payment) and fulfilled by our print partner; we do not store your card details. Those transactions are covered by the Terms and the providers' own privacy policies.
Children's privacy
Artifact World Gallery is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, we have no children's data to handle. We comply with COPPA, the GDPR-K, and equivalent regulations by simple absence of collection.
Changes
If our practices ever change — for example, if we add an optional opt-in feature that requires a network call — this page will be updated and the change will be disclosed in-app before the feature ships. We will not silently start collecting data.
