What you're using

"Artifact World Gallery" refers to the iOS app, this website at artifactworldgallery.com, the bundled art corpus, the made-to-order print store, and the watercolor visual identity that goes with them. The app is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store.

Catalogue accuracy

The artwork information we show — titles, dates, artist attributions, mediums, and descriptive notes — is drawn from museum open-access collections and other public sources, and is provided for general informational and educational use. Attribution and dating in art history are frequently revised; we present the source institutions' records together with our own descriptive notes in good faith, but do not warrant that every attribution, date, or detail is exhaustive or final.

Prints & orders

Prints sold on this website are made to order and reproduce works we have determined to be in the public domain or openly licensed (CC0). They are produced and shipped by our third-party print partner. Available sizes, substrates, and prices are shown at checkout; payment is processed by Stripe. Orders are subject to our Shipping and Returns policies. Because each item is produced to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns, but we will reprint or refund a defective or damaged print — see Returns. We currently ship to most countries except the EU and the UK.

The Plus subscription

Plus is an auto-renewing in-app subscription, processed by Apple's StoreKit, that unlocks the app's real-world tracking features. It renews until cancelled; you can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple account settings, subject to Apple's standard billing and refund process. Apple Family Sharing of the subscription is supported per Apple's terms; we are not party to that exchange.

Basic browsing and discovery in the app remain free. If the Plus feature set changes in a future version, material changes will be disclosed in-app before they take effect.

Content ownership

The Artifact World Gallery app, the watercolor visual identity, the original written content on this website, and the curated art corpus (as assembled, organised, deduplicated, and editorially annotated) are © Alexander Knigge. The underlying artworks themselves are public-domain / openly-licensed and are not claimed by us. You may view and share individual artworks in personal contexts. Republishing the corpus, scraping the catalogue, or redistributing the app's bundled database is not permitted without written permission.

No warranties

Artifact World Gallery is provided "as is." We don't warrant that the app or site will be free of bugs, that every attribution or detail is complete, or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alexander Knigge is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website. Our total liability for any direct claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant order or subscription.

Changes

These terms may be revised as Artifact World Gallery evolves. Material changes will be flagged on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after a change counts as acceptance of the revised terms.
