Untitled is a 1977 graphite by Alice Aycock, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This sketch is a messy circle covered in tiny lines and numbers. It looks like a floor plan or a puzzle. The artist wrote notes like "Hair Segment" and "Barrier Boundary" in the margins. Lines crisscross everywhere, some curved, some straight. This is a study for a round sculpture. The artist used graph paper and pencil to plan it out. The notes show how she thought about shapes and sizes. Check out Alice Aycock to see more of her weird, mathy art.
