Untitled is a 1970 ink by Allan Kaprow, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This is a plain beige envelope with handwritten notes. The top lists a number (0-5958) and a name (Allan Kaprow). Below that, someone wrote instructions like *"CARRYING THROUGH THE CITY"* and *"PIX LEFT ON SPOT"* in uneven letters. The bottom notes the dates *"MARCH 22, 23, 1969"* and the place *"BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA."* The envelope isn’t empty—it’s part of an art project. The notes suggest Kaprow asked someone to walk around, sit down, and leave photos behind. If you’re curious about how artists use everyday objects, check out lithography.
