Untitled is a 1953 ink by Alton Pickens, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This black-and-white print shows three figures in a dim room. A man in a suit leans over a table, cutting into a roast. A woman in a patterned dress stands nearby, watching. Behind them, two odd, mask-like chairs sit empty, with exaggerated faces carved into the backs. The artist used a mix of sharp lines and soft shading to create depth. The moon peeks through a window, adding a quiet light to the scene. Want to see more? Check out the technique: aquatint.
