About this work

This looks like three pale-blue sheets with abstract black squiggles and colored pencil marks. The lines bunch up in some spots, thin out in others. It’s not a sketch. It’s a diazotype—a kind of early blueprint process—then colored over by hand. The colors are soft and stay in the background. The real action is in the black lines: they twist, jump, even look like tiny faces if you tilt your head. Try this yourself on tracing paper. See Bengt af Klintberg.
