Untitled is a 1998 paint by Christian Boltanski, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This is a black-and-white photo of a toy monster standing upright. It has a spiked helmet, a scaly body with a shiny chest plate, and clawed hands. The creature’s tail curls up behind it, and its feet look like padded pads. The toy’s chest plate has a raised, circular design that looks like a button or eye. The photo is crisp, but the monster’s face is hidden under the helmet. This is part of a series of Xerox prints by Christian Boltanski.
Christian Liberté Boltanski (6 September 1944 – 14 July 2021) was a French sculptor, photographer, painter, and film maker. He is best known for his photography installations and contemporary French conceptual style.
