This drawing shows six strange, skinny figures with mushroom heads. They’re all lined up in a row, some standing straight, some leaning. The shapes are simple but look twisted, like they’re made of blocks. The lines are dark and sharp against a light background. The artist used a tool to carve into the metal plate, then inked it to make the lines. That’s called engraving. The figures don’t look real—they’re more like shapes that could be from a dream. Try looking up engraving to see how this technique works.
