About this work

This print shows a room where people sit in mismatched chairs, looking at paintings on the wall. The figures are simple shapes with bold outlines—some wear hats, others slouch or lean forward. Behind them, the paintings are odd and flat, like cutouts: one has a floating face, another a stretched-out body, and the last looks like a shadowy mask. The artist signed it in the corner, calling it a "Picasso study club." That hints this might be poking fun at how people copy or discuss art.
