Untitled is a 1993 charcoal by Eve Andrée Laramée, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This looks like a black-and-white map with a border of text and numbers. Three white shapes—like fish or small boats—float in the middle of a big dark square. Around the edges, you can see grid lines, a legend, and handwritten notes in pencil. The artist covered most of the map with black charcoal, leaving just those three shapes visible. The handwritten text at the bottom says *"Approximate Locations near Ingolfsfjall, Iceland."* Check out cross-hatching to see how artists use repeated lines to create shadows.
Eve Andree Laramee is an American installation artist whose works explores four primary themes: legacy of the Atomic Age, history of science, environment and ecology, social conditions.
