About this work

This print is all jagged lines and rough shapes. Dark black marks fill most of the space, with a few orange and brown spots breaking it up. It looks like a chaotic scene—maybe a crowd or a struggle—but the lines are so thick and messy, it’s hard to tell what’s happening. The artist used a printing method where ink is rolled onto a smooth stone before pressing it onto paper. That’s how the bold lines and uneven textures got here. Check out lithography to see how this process works.
