Untitled is a 1974 ink by Hanne Darboven, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This image shows 31 small framed sheets laid out in a grid. Each sheet has neat rows of numbers and simple math problems written in ink. The papers are light-colored, almost see-through, and each frame has a wood border. The sheets look like homework pages, but they’re arranged perfectly in order. The numbers increase slightly with each one, as if counting up. The handwriting is steady and precise, like a routine practice. If you like this kind of careful, repetitive work, check out Hanne Darboven.
Hanne Darboven (29 April 1941 – 9 March 2009) was a German conceptual artist, best known for her large-scale minimalist installations consisting of handwritten tables of numbers.
