Peisaj de iarnă is an unspecified by Dumitru Ghiață, held at National Museum of Art of Romania.
This painting shows a snowy village scene with thick brushstrokes. A tree heavy with snow stands in the foreground, its branches bending under the weight. Behind it, a cluster of buildings with sloped roofs and small windows huddle together, their walls dusted white. A tower with a dome rises above the rooftops, and two figures in winter clothes stand near a fence, one holding what looks like a bundle. The brushwork is loose and textured, giving the snow a rough, almost gritty look. The colors are muted—whites, browns, and grays—with a few pops of green from the windows. This style of thick, visible brushwork is called *impasto*.
Dumitru Ghiață (22 September 1888 – 3 July 1972) was a Romanian landscape painter.
