Untitled is a 1964 ink by Jacob Landau, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This print shows a chaotic, crowded scene with lots of people and animals piled together. The figures are drawn in bold, scratchy lines—some look like they’re sitting, others are tangled up. A globe floats above one person’s head, and the whole thing feels messy but full of movement. The artist used a technique called lithography, which lets ink stick to smooth stone before being pressed onto paper. That’s why the lines look both sharp and slightly fuzzy. Check out more about lithography to see how it works.
Jacob Landau (December 17, 1917 – November 24, 2001) was an American artist best known for his evocative works on the human condition.
