This print shows swirling, cloud-like shapes in deep blues, blacks, and bright streaks of pink, green, and gold. The background looks like rough wood grain, while the clouds have wavy, almost liquid edges. Some areas glow faintly, as if lit from inside. The artist used woodcut blocks for the dark lines, then added color by hand—like paint mixed with egg yolk. This mix is called tempera. Look up tempera to see how artists used it for centuries.
