About this work

This print shows three heads side by side. On the left is a smooth, brown bust of a person with a wrapped head. In the middle, a rough sketch of a bird with outstretched wings blends into a shadowy shape. On the right, a carved-like mask with hollow eyes and a wide mouth faces forward. The artist mixed real objects with drawing to create a strange, layered effect. The bird looks like it’s flying into the mask’s face, almost like they’re connected. Next, check out etching to see how artists use acid and metal plates to make prints like this.
