Untitled is a 1972 ink by Lenore Tawney, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This piece shows a square of light-colored paper framed in dark wood. On the left side, there’s a fan of thin, ink lines spreading out like a half-circle. In the bottom right corner, a small bone lies flat against the paper. The ink lines are drawn so close together they almost blend into shading. The bone looks like it was placed there after the drawing was done. Next, check out cross-hatching to see how artists build shadows with lines.
Lenore Tawney was an American artist working in fiber art, collage, assemblage, and drawing.
