About this work

This sketch is mostly dark gray with a few lighter spots. On the left side, there’s a tall, thin figure with one arm raised—it looks like they’re holding something. The background is blurry, with what might be a few shapes or objects, but it’s hard to tell. The whole thing feels rough and smudged, like it was drawn quickly. The artist used charcoal, which gives it that gritty, uneven look. The lines aren’t clean, and some parts look like they were rubbed or smudged on purpose. Check out scumbling to see how artists create texture with charcoal.
