Untitled is a 1975 acrylic by Paul Thek, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This painting shows a red background with a rough, uneven texture. In the center, there’s a pale pink oval shape with three dark, blob-like objects on top. A blue line runs along the bottom edge of the oval, and the whole thing looks like it’s sitting on a piece of newspaper. The red background is thick and messy, almost like paint was scraped or smeared on. The newspaper underneath peeks through in spots, adding a gritty feel.
