Untitled is a 1971 ink by Ralph Maradiaga, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This image shows a grid of 24 small, brown-toned boxes. Each box contains a different scene—some look like empty rooms, others show people or objects like a clock or a table. The lines are precise, and the whole thing feels like a puzzle. One odd detail: the scenes repeat or mirror each other, like a room with a door appears twice, but flipped. The artist signed it in the corner, but no title is visible. If you like this, look up etching to see how artists create these kinds of prints.
Ralph Maradiaga (1934–1985) was an American artist, curator, photographer, printmaker, teacher, and filmmaker. He was Chicano, one of the co-founders of Galería de la Raza and part of the San Francisco Bay Area Chicano Art Movement.
