This painting shows two tall, empty figures with big round heads. One side is plain with a light background and a wooden strip, while the other is covered in red and black splatters. The figures’ faces are blank, and their limbs are just black lines. Notice how the artist mixed rough textures—wood, paint splatters, and smooth paper—into one piece. It looks like they tore, pasted, and painted over everything. Check out Robert Motherwell to see how he played with color and shape in other works.
