Untitled is a 2007 ink by Slavs and Tatars, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This is a simple screenprint with bold purple text on a white background. The words read: *"Le fric, c'est pas si chic, dit le Tajik."* The letters are uneven, some thick and some thin, as if handwritten but printed. The phrase is in French and means something like *"Money isn’t so classy, says the Tajik."* It’s playful and a little cheeky, mixing language with a casual attitude. If you like this style, check out The Museum of Modern Art for more modern art prints.
Slavs and Tatars is an art collective and "a faction of polemics and intimacies devoted to an area east of the former Berlin Wall and west of the Great Wall of China known as Eurasia".
