This painting looks like a black sky full of tiny white dots. The dots are scattered all over—some bright, some faint. No shapes or faces, just a sea of light against dark. The artist used only graphite on paper. Every dot is drawn by hand, but it’s hard to tell where one starts and another ends. Look up Vija Celmins next—she makes these kinds of quiet, star-filled works.
