This sketch shows a tall, thin lamp with a big, round shade. The shade is drawn with lots of crisscrossed lines, making it look almost like a wire cage. Behind the lamp, there’s a blurry, overlapping cluster of shapes—maybe faces or heads—that fade into the background. The artist used quick, sketchy lines, almost like scribbles, to show light and shadow. The pencil marks are loose, not precise, giving it a rough, unfinished feel. Look up cross-hatching to see how artists build shading with lines.
