This painting looks like a loose, sketchy drawing made of thick black lines and bold colors. There’s a tall, thin shape in the middle with jagged edges, some blue and yellow patches, and a few small black dots. The background is mostly empty white paper, and the whole thing feels rough and unfinished. The artist used a woodcut method, which means they carved into wood and stamped it onto paper. The lines are uneven, giving it a handmade, almost accidental feel. If you like this style, check out lithography next—it’s another printmaking technique with a similar raw energy.
