Untitled is a 1988 ink by Claes Oldenburg, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This painting shows bright, odd-shaped objects floating against a light background. There’s a green and yellow slice, a red mushroom-like form, and orange blobs scattered around. The colors pop—mostly greens, yellows, and oranges—with a few soft blue lines at the top like a sky. The artist played with everyday things but made them look strange and exaggerated. The way the objects don’t quite match real life is the fun part. Check out the technique: lithography to see how this print was made.
Claes Oldenburg (January 28, 1929 – July 18, 2022) was a Swedish-born American sculptor best known for his public art installations, typically featuring large replicas of everyday objects.
