This painting shows two big triangles leaning against a white wall. One triangle is a flat, light beige color. The other is a deep brown with a rough, textured look—like wood or brushed paint. A thin blue line runs across the brown shape, dividing it into two uneven parts. The artist folded and glued the linen canvas to create these sharp angles. The blue line isn’t drawn freehand—it’s perfectly straight, like a ruler was used. Check out Dorothea Rockburne to see how she turns simple shapes into bold ideas.
