Untitled is a 2001 graphite by Elizabeth Peyton, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This sketch shows a woman’s face in profile, turned slightly toward us. Her hair is short, brushed back, and painted in quick, bright strokes of orange and red. The skin is light with a soft pink tint, and her eyes are a calm blue. The lines around her neck and jaw are loose, almost like a quick sketch. The colors pop against the plain paper, making the face stand out. The artist used colored pencils, layering them to create depth without blending.
