Untitled is a 1999 graphite by Elizabeth Simonson, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This piece looks like a tall, narrow shape made of white paper. On the right side, there’s a cluster of pink ink—it looks like flowers or branches spreading out. Thin black lines crisscross the whole thing, making it look like it’s woven together. The pink marks are uneven, like someone drew fast or let the ink bleed. The white background stays clean except where the ink touches it. If you like this kind of drawing, check out cross-hatching next.
Elizabeth Simonson (b. 1964) was an American artist.
