This painting shows a quiet, ink-drawn landscape. A lone tree stands tall in the center, its branches made of sharp, crisscrossed lines. Around it, smaller trees and a faint horizon line sit lightly on the page. The colors are mostly soft beige and gray, with dark ink for the trees and a few scattered dots. The tree’s branches use tiny, overlapping lines to create shadow and depth. This is called cross-hatching, a way to build texture without color. Try searching cross-hatching to see how other artists use it.
