Jour de Fête à Venise is a 1904 oil by Eugène Lawrence Vail, a Impressionism work, held at Brooklyn Museum.
This painting shows a grand building with a large arched entrance and a balcony above it. The building is decorated with colorful paintings and sculptures. In front of the building, people are gathered, some sitting and others standing. Two large flags are flying, one on each side of the entrance. The painting has a warm, golden color tone, which gives it a sense of age and history. The artist has used thick brushstrokes to create a textured effect, especially in the clothing and flags. The painting is held at the Brooklyn Museum.
Eugène Lawrence Vail or simply Eugène Vail (29 September 1857, in Saint-Servan – 25 December 1934, in Paris), was a French American painter; best known for his works of village scenes in the Impressionistic style.
