Between them is a large vase with a single flower or branch sticking out. The background is soft and pale, almost like a foggy wall. The brushstrokes are thick and uneven, giving the scene a rough, textured look. The artist didn’t smooth out the paint—it’s almost like you can feel the strokes if you reached in.
