This painting looks like a quick, messy sketch. Bright colors—reds, greens, yellows—bleed into each other. Sharp black lines cut across the page, and some areas are smudged like wet ink. The shapes don’t match anything real; they’re just blobs and streaks. Richter made this in 1984 by layering ink, watercolor, and crayon. The colors feel raw, like they were slapped on fast. The paper shows through in spots, making it look unfinished on purpose. Want to see more like this? Check out Gerhard Richter.
