Untitled is a 1980 unspecified by Geta Brătescu, a Contemporary Abstract work, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This piece looks like a rough, textured cloth with a mix of stitches and pencil marks. In the center is a pale, ghostly face with closed eyes, surrounded by dark, tangled lines. The face fades into a shadowy shape, and a small purple patch sits below it like a collar. Off to the side, a tiny red-and-black eye peeks out from a rough circle. The artist used a sewing machine to create some of the lines, giving the work a raw, handmade feel. The mix of drawing and stitching makes it look both fragile and strong.
