She shows a woman sitting by a window, reading a book. Light falls on her face. The room stays dark except for that patch on the wall. It’s painted in soft, blurry edges—no hard lines. That style is called sfumato. It’s the same trick Leonardo used to make faces look alive. Try looking up the Museum of Ethnography where this hangs.
