This painting shows thick, rough brushstrokes in warm colors—deep reds, oranges, and browns. The texture looks almost like scratched clay, with some dark patches that might be shadows. There’s a faint suggestion of a face or hat shape in the top left, but it’s hard to make out. The brushwork is so heavy it almost looks like the paint was slapped on. This technique is called *impasto*, where paint is laid on thick so you can almost feel the texture. Look up impasto to see more examples of this bold, tactile style.
