This print shows a neat square of glossy black paint set against a matte grey background. It looks simple, but the way the black sits on the grey takes your eye. Davenport often uses this style. He pours liquid paint or ink, lets it dry, then prints it. The contrast between slick and flat makes the square pop. If you like this, check out Ian Davenport.
