About this work

This image is packed with bright, flat shapes on a gray, textured background. You see people in bold colors—yellow, pink, blue—doing everyday things like sitting, dancing, or holding objects. There’s a floating house with rooms stacked inside, furniture, clothes, and even a tiny airplane. Some figures look like they’re in motion, while others stand still. The colors pop against the dark, rough surface, making everything feel busy and layered. The artist used a mix of printmaking and collage, gluing bits of paper and ink together. This gives the work a patchy, almost scrapbook-like feel, as if the scene was built from pieces over time. Look up lithography next to see how this technique works.
