Untitled is a 1962 ink by Jim Dine, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This drawing shows two simple, black figures standing on thin lines. One looks like a person with a long neck and a small head, holding something that might be a hat or a bird. The other is a blobby shape with a face, like a melted mask or a ghost. The lines are rough and uneven, almost like scribbles. The artist used a printing method called lithography, which lets ink sit on a flat surface instead of brushstrokes. This makes the marks look loose and quick, like sketches. Check out lithography to see how it works.
