Untitled is a 1906 ink by John Sloan, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This sketch shows an older woman sitting in a chair, holding a small dog on her lap. She wears a light-colored blouse with a dark shawl draped over her shoulders. A tray with a teacup sits on the armrest, and a book lies open on the table in front of her. The artist used shading to show her wrinkles and the texture of her clothes. The lines are loose but precise, giving the scene a quiet, everyday feel. This is an example of the technique: etching.
