Untitled is a 2021 ink by Liliana Porter, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This image shows a pale, almost blank background with two loose, swirling black lines floating near the top. Below them, a small blue figurine of a person stands alone, arms at their sides. The lines look like they’re tangled, but not quite connected. The figurine is the only solid thing here—everything else is just ink on paper. The artist used a printmaking method to make the lines, which is why it looks so precise yet free. Check out etching to see how artists like this create lines with acid and metal plates.
