About this work

This sketch is a mix of rough, quick drawings stuck together like a collage. You see a boat on water, a lone figure walking, a horse, and a few odd, blocky shapes that look like people or furniture. Some areas are filled with tight, crisscrossed lines, while others are just light pencil strokes. The whole thing feels unfinished, like a doodle someone never erased. The crisscrossed lines in parts of the drawing are a technique called cross-hatching. It’s used to add shading without blending, giving the sketch texture. Look up cross-hatching to see how artists use it to create depth with just pencil.
