This painting is all sharp lines and bright colors. Thick red, orange, and yellow stripes shoot out from the center like rays. The background is deep black, making the colors pop even more. The stripes aren’t perfect—they wobble a little, like they were drawn by hand. The artist used colored pencils, layering them to build up the bold lines. The edges of the stripes look slightly rough, almost like they were drawn fast. Next, check out Mark Grotjahn to see more of his work.
