Untitled is a 1955 ink by Misch Kohn, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This image is a long, narrow black-and-white print packed with tiny lines and shapes. You see lots of overlapping figures—some look like people, others like animals or abstract forms. The lines are tight and busy, filling the whole space with texture. Shadows and patterns create a sense of depth, even though everything is just ink on paper. The artist used a method called *cross-hatching*—layers of crisscrossed lines to build up dark and light areas. It’s a way to make flat paper look three-dimensional without color. Check out cross-hatching to see how artists use simple lines to create drama.
