This print is a mix of bold shapes and flat colors. Black lines slice through the center, dividing the space into uneven blocks of white, blue, and brown. The edges feel rough, like the paint was scraped or smeared on. Some areas look almost like a shadowy figure, but it’s hard to tell what it’s supposed to be. The artist used a printing method called lithography, where the image is drawn on a smooth stone before being pressed onto paper. This piece is one of a small set—only 14 prints were made. Next, check out lithography to see how this process works.
