This painting shows a messy, swirling group of figures tangled together. The colors are mostly pale—peach, gray, and soft brown—with splashes of black ink. The lines are loose and wobbly, like they were drawn fast or with a shaky hand. Some shapes look like bodies, but they’re hard to tell apart. The paper is made of small pieces stitched together, almost like a patchwork. This makes the whole thing look uneven and raw, not smooth. Check out gouache next—it’s the paint used here.
