Untitled is a 1967 acrylic by Ulla Wiggen, a Contemporary Abstract work, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This painting shows a grid of shapes on a sandy brown background. There are eight white rectangles arranged in two rows of four, connected by thick white and yellow lines. Inside some rectangles are smaller squares with two tiny dots or lines. The artist mixed sand into the paint, giving the surface a gritty texture. The lines look like circuits or a maze, but they’re purely abstract. Next, check out Ulla Wiggen.
