Untitled is a 1997 ink by Ward Jackson, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This image shows six black shapes inside diamond frames. Each shape looks like a twisted letter "U" or "V," but they’re all different. The background is plain white, and the whole thing is framed by a thin black line. The artist signed it "Ward Jackson '97" in the corner. The title is written as "Transverse," though it’s not clear why. If you like this kind of simple, bold art, check out lithography next.
Ward Jackson was an American visual artist most closely associated with post painterly abstraction and minimalism, an archivist at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the co-founder and editor of the publication "Art Now Gallery Guide".
