About this work

This painting is just four big squares stacked vertically. Each square is a deep red, but they’re not the same shade—some are darker, some lighter, some almost brown. The edges are sharp and clean, like someone carefully taped off sections before painting. The artist made sure every square feels separate, even though they’re all the same color.
